On Oct. 21, Parkrose High Schools German Club held its 22nd annual Oktoberfest at the high school.

The club served authentic German breads, sausages, sauerkraut, fondue and other treats from Germany. Singing, dancing and games rounded out the activities.

Over 120 students from the German Club and other friends of the club attended this year’s party in the community room at the high school. The enticing aroma of German cooking filled the commons area and the adjoining halls of the school.

Club Presidents Elyssa Gregory and Jessica Gregory worked hard to make this year’s Oktoberfest break all previous records for attendance and food consumption.

All Parkrose High School German Club students and guests had a great time while experiencing the culture of Germany.

The world’s most famous Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany originated in 1810 as a celebration of the wedding of the Bavarian King Ludwig I to the Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
