Parkrose Day Care Center is proud to announce its 40th year of service to the Parkrose community.

The center, which was originally located on Northeast 105th Avenue, recently moved to 10399 N.E. Prescott St., across from the Prescott Elementary School.

Parkrose Day Care Center, certified by the state of Oregon, currently cares for approximately two-dozen children, ages 1 1/2 to 9 years.

The center offers a small group setting, providing a home-like environment with an emphasis on early childhood education. There is a low child-to-staff ratio that provides each child the individual attention and care he or she deserves. The staff at the center is all professional caregivers and has been with the center for many years.

“We understand that the cost of childcare is a big expense for a young family,” said Irene Malde, center owner and operator, “so we have always made every effort to keep the cost of childcare affordable while providing a quality program for the community.”

The center offers full-time care and preschool, along with before- and after-school care. In addition, Parkrose Day Care Center offers a unique program it calls “Flexibility-Scheduling,” meant for parents who work part time or for the parent who needs occasional care for a child or children.

Malde and the friendly staff at Parkrose Day Care Center invites the community to call the center at 503-252-5105 to find out more, or to drop by for a visit. Hours of operation at the center are from 6:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“We look forward to the continued support of the Parkrose community,” Malde told the Memo, “and the many students we have been fortunate to care for over the years.”
