Memo Letters...

The Mid-county Memo is your newspaper. We want to hear from you. Discuss an important issue or address a concern you want to call to the community’s attention. We prefer e-mailed letters to the editor sent to Darlene Vinson at editor@midcountymemo.com. Please put ‘letter to the editor’ in the subject line. You may also mail your letter to 3510 N.E. 134th Ave., Portland, OR 97230 or fax it to 503-249-7672. Our deadline for the June issue is Friday, May 15.

Pastor retires, sends thanks
To the Editor:
Thank you for such a flattering article. (“Taylor retires from Eastminster, to be feted,” March 2006)

I really appreciated you getting the information in about the parties. You always amaze me with such great articles and such great coverage. Thank you over and over again. It has been great working with you all over the years.

Bill Taylor
Pastor, New Life-Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Retired

Memo contributes to effort to aid needy
To the Editor:

The Mid-county Memo was a great part of the success of the SnowCap auction. (“SnowCap auction record helps meet goals to serve needy,” March 2006). As the winter winds blow through cracks and crevices everywhere, we can take satisfaction that $12,000 of the $50,000 is being spent on heat to keep our neighbors warm.

SnowCap Community Charities Executive Director

Loaves & Fishes manager expresses gratitude
To the Editor:

I wish to express my large gratitude for your support of Loaves & Fishes Centers, Inc., specifically the Cherry Blossom Center located in the East Portland Community Center. (“Deliver Meals-on-Wheels or cook for a crowd,” Memo Pad, March 2006). I have attached our March menu for posting on your Web site. (The Memo publishes the Loaves & Fishes menu monthly. In print, as space allows, and always on our Web site.) Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you again for your wonderful support. We are very proud to have you as a neighborhood sponsor for our center. Thank you for helping us make a senior smile!

Tamara Bailey
Cherry Blossom Center Manager
