Vehicle loans go ‘green’
Unitus Community Credit Union has launched an environmentally friendly alternative to mainstream auto loans.

With a Green Loan from Unitus, auto loan rates are reduced by 0.5% for members who purchase a 2003 or newer hybrid vehicle. Full and mild hybrids qualify for the rate reduction.

“We’re encouraging our members to save money, save gas, and ultimately, improve our environment,” said Paul Kirkbride, vice president of credit services at Unitus.

Studies show Portland is a leader in innovative transportation solutions and has a large population of eco-friendly residents. By launching a product with such mass appeal, Unitus hopes to strengthen its ties with the Portland market.

“There are so many benefits to purchasing a hybrid vehicle: better gas mileage, reduced emissions, and even possible tax credits,” explained Kirkbride. “Now Unitus members can add another benefit to this list: a lower interest rate on their auto loan.”

To find out more about Unitus’s Green Loan, visit any of the Unitus locations, call 503-227-5571 or learn more online at www.unitusccu.com/loans/auto.

You will find a Unitus branch at 10555 S.E. Washington St., near Mall 205.

Credit union enters business banking arena
Unitus Community Credit Union, a leading credit union in Oregon with nearly $643 million in assets, has launched a line of business services products to meet the needs of its expanding membership.

The credit union’s business services are geared toward smaller, local businesses like sole proprietors, partnerships, LLCs and small corporations. Individuals qualify for a business relationship with Unitus if their businesses are based in the credit union’s six-county field of membership. Product line-up includes business checking, money market, Certificates of Deposit, Individual Retirement Accounts and Simplified Employee Pensions, loans and lines of credit, merchant services and employee benefits.

“Unitus is dedicated to the financial well-being of our members, and of course that includes the needs of their businesses,” stated Jason Werts, vice president of member services. “These are products our membership has been asking us for, and we’re excited to finally be able to meet that need. Our business services support local businesses looking for individual attention, outstanding service, and decisions made quickly by folks in the community.”

Unitus’s business services are a variation of traditional business services, stressing ties to the community for close to 70 years. As a community credit union, Unitus emphasizes its business services as being entirely local yet fully invested. Committed throughout the entire process, from the beginning stages to expansion, Unitus is aiming to walk with their members and their members’ businesses each step of the way.
