If it’s fall, it’s time for those wonderful holiday bazaars. You know what we’re talking about here: Handmade gifts perfect for the holiday season, seasonal decorations and homemade baked goods. It’s a harbinger of the festive holiday season that we all enjoy so much. And don’t forget those white elephants! Plan now to attend a holiday bazaar near you.

Here we go:

• Mobile Estates Activity Group, 16745 S.E. Division St., will offer handmade items, holiday specialties and decorations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 and 6.

• St. Rita Catholic Church annual Fall Festival and Bazaar is set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 and 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Featured are many new vendor tables as well as a boutique baked goods, fresh produce and white elephants. Lunch is served all day. The church is located at 10029 N.E. Prescott St. For additional information please call 503-254-0305 or 503-253-8810.

• St. Therese Women’s Association welcomes the community to browse for crafts, baked goods and handmade gifts on Friday, Nov. 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. 4 p.m. at Northeast 132nd Avenue and Halsey Street.

• Bennett Chapel United Methodist Church, 13047 S.E. Ramona St., will sell handcrafted items, white elephants and hold a raffle for a quilt on Saturday, Nov. 6.

• Vendors at the Gateway Elkettes annual bazaar will display holiday ornaments and decorations, woodcrafts and needlework at the Gateway Elks Lodge located at 711.N.E. 100th Ave. on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• A bazaar hosted by Rockwood United Methodist Women is set for Saturday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 17805 S.E. Stark St. Shoppers will find handmade gifts, special jams and baked goods, and holiday items. A snack bar will be available.

• Sleepy Hollow Craft Guild holds its bazaar at Savage Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1740 S.E. 139th Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors will offer holiday décor and gifts, paintings, carvings, weavings and metal sculpture.

• Pickup handmade items, baked goods and stop for lunch at the bazaar hosted by Cherry Park United Methodist Women on Friday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The church is located at 1736 S.E. 106th Ave.

• Oregon Baptist Retirement Homes, 1825 N.E. 108th Ave., opens it doors on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Holiday crafts, white elephants and baked goods will be offered.

• Parkrose United Methodist Women invite you to attend the annual Holiday Bazaar Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 11111 N.E. Knott St. Shoppers will find ideal gifts and holiday decor from numerous arts and crafts tables. There will be white elephants and baked goods. Beef vegetable soup, sandwiches and freshly baked pie are available all day.

• Saturday, Nov. 13 is the date for the Rose City Nazarene bazaar, located at 7016 N.E. Sandy Blvd. Baked goods, jewelry, and handmade Christmas items will be for sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• A bazaar to benefit Kiwanis will be held on Friday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ramona’s Flowers, 7545 N.E. Sandy Blvd. It will feature handmade quilts, silk and fresh wreaths, and painted items.

• For half a century, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 11229 N.E. Prescott St., has been hosting a holiday bazaar in the parish hall. Set for Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this year’s event will feature quilted pieces, hand painted wooden decorations, hand embroidered dishtowels, gourmet foods and candles. Church members make nearly all the items offered for sale. There are no commercial vendors. Soup, sandwiches and pies will be served at the snack bar. Childcare is available for children 3 and under while you browse the aisles. For more information call 503-252-5720.

• It’s time for the East Portland Community Center’s fourth annual holiday craft bazaar and basket raffle to be held Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. With more than 40 tables filled with homemade gifts and Christmas decor items for sale, you will be able to fill those holiday wish lists quickly. Come early and shop, buy a chance or two on the basket raffle and share lunch with your friends. There are still a few tables available for rental, but will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested in renting a table, call Bobbie at 503-618-8506. Proceeds from the table rentals and the basket raffle will be donated to the EPCC playground fund.

• David Douglas High School, 1001 S.E. 135th Ave., will host a bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Jingle Bell Café will be open all day while shoppers search for handcrafted gifts and holiday decorations.
