Wig Gallery announces move to Gateway
The Wig Gallery is relocating from the Southeast 102nd Avenue address it has occupied for 37 years to the former Gateway Florist building on Northeast 106th Avenue and Halsey Street. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18.

Owner Debbie Petrie plans to expand the wig selection and showroom size and add many new amenities for her clientele. There will be an on-site hair salon, privacy rooms, wheelchair access and an easy to find location with private parking.

The hair salon will allow customers privacy to have their own hair cut, explore color matching for hairpieces and have human hair wigs cut and styled. Men's hair systems services will be offered as well. The Wig Gallery also cleans, conditions, alters and repairs synthetic wigs and carries hats and headwear.

According to Petrie, “Wigs are not like what, 'grandma used to wear.' A good quality wig should be undetectable. We set the standard for service to our customers assuring the proper fit, care instruction, advice on selection and the latest in wig technology and salon styles.”

Regular walk-in business hours will be Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Salon services are available by appointment. The Wig Gallery, 10605 N.E. Halsey St. Call 503- 253-5680 to make an appointment, or simply drop in to explore your options.

Bookseller benefits non-profits
Dollar Books has moved into Menlo Park Plaza located at Northeast 122nd Avenue and Glisan Street and set up shop in the old Kelley's Furniture location.

Dollar Books is the retail sales outlet for United Book Drives, a Portland fundraising services company that works with non-profit organizations like Boys and Girls Clubs. Member non-profits collect books, CDs and DVDs and Dollar Books liquidates them at rock bottom prices. A portion of the profits from sales of the donated books goes back to the charity.

The new retail showroom boasts over 10,000 square feet and currently has over 50,000 items in stock. The books are well organized for easy shopping and friendly browsing. Now would be a great time to stock up on reading material for the rainy days headed our way.
