Now in its fourth year, the fundraising luncheon aims to build a network or circle of strength among women to support counseling for low-income single women and their children. The Center, with the help of dedicated volunteers and supporters, has raised over $100,000 to date through these annual luncheons. Counseling center Director Sister Barbara Kennedy describes the impact of services that help single mothers with personal counseling, as well as job referrals, housing, and educational opportunities this way: Supporting these moms in all areas of their lives increases the likelihood of strong healthy families. Its a way of creating a circle of strength in their everyday lives. The Northeast Catholic Counseling Center makes a difference in the lives of over 700 individuals, couples and families each year. While many generous corporation, foundations and individuals help support counseling for the Centers low-income clients, this important event directly underwrites much of the cost of counseling for impoverished single women and children.
