Business Memo's...

The Mid-county Memo connects the community, both individuals and businesses. Let the community know about your new business or an exciting special event at your business. The Mid-county Memo will publish submissions on a space-available basis.

Submissions for each month are due by the 15th of the previous month. We prefer e-mailed submissions sent to Dawn Widler, Department Editor at editor@midcountymemo.com. You may also mail complete information to 4052 N.E. 22nd Ave., Portland, OR, 97212-1503, phone 503-287-8904 or fax 503-249-7672.

Dancing their way to a new location
After seven lucky years in Parkrose, Carrie B’s Dance Shop has moved to 2536 S.E. 122nd Ave., in the Division Street Midway Plaza.

“We are sorry to leave the Parkrose area, but we believe being in a busy centrally located shopping mall will be even more convenient for our customers,” said Ron Nelson, owner of Carrie B’s.

Nelson has been very active in the Parkrose Business Association and is president of the Parkrose Neighborhood Association.

The new Carrie B’s has 600 square feet devoted to retail ballroom, line dance, liturgical, jazz, tap, ballet, salsa, folk, round and square dance clothing and shoes. There is also an extensive website at www.carriebs.com for dancers to order from. “Seventy percent of our business is now over the web and we ship dancewear all over the world; however, we still wanted to keep a retail storefront here in East Portland for our local dance friends,” said Nelson. Visit the new store Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, please call Ron Nelson at 503-254-1164.

Wild Web Works and the Combat Zone
Wild Web Works is Portland’s newest computer and Internet services company. Many of the people who work for this company have worked on the other end of the industry, either as a vendor or a client. They saw what other companies were doing wrong, and they set out to build a company that runs a little differently, has more integrity and cares about its customers. “We’re set up to handle almost any need a client may have,” says Wild Web Works President Kerry Lafferty. “We have everything from website design to custom computer builds.”

The Wild Web Works Data Center is located at 4705 N.E. Columbia Blvd, and offers website design, web application development, website hosting, server co-location, computer equipment sales, managed data services, dedicated connectivity and computer service. For more information, please call 503-331-7495 or toll-free 1-866-421-WILD. You can also visit www.wildwebworks.com.

Wild Web Works hosts another first: the Combat Zone. The Combat Zone includes 47 high-end computer gaming systems, with a wide variety of games, including first person shooters, role playing, real time strategy, simulation, and sports games. Some popular games include Age of the Empires 2, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2, and Diablo 2. The Combat Zone also serves beer, wine, snacks and sandwiches, so you must be 21 to enter.

The Combat Zone lives up to its name. You are greeted at the door by someone in purple camouflage, given dog tags and shown to a computer. It is definitely the most comfortable war zone you will ever be in. You don’t even have to leave the comfortable, van-style seats to order from the on-site deli: the menu is on your computer screen. The Combat Zone offers special packages for corporate events, birthday parties, bachelor parties, and tournaments. Visit the Combat Zone today at 10721 N.E. Sandy Blvd. For more information, please call 503-788-5155.
