New digs for Dixie
Dixie’s Gifts & Hair Salon is the latest victim of rent increases at Menlo Park Plaza, but owner Dixie Winter has landed on her feet once again. Her style salon and unique gift shop have moved and are sharing space with Reinhardt’s Arts & Crafts Floral and Home Décor at 11906 N.E. Halsey St.

Winter and Eric Adams of Reinhardt’s believe the merchandise each carries will complement that offered by the other. While they will continue to operate as separate entities, Winter will take on the display responsibilities for both businesses. They believe this new partnership will provide an exciting new shop that will delight neighborhood customers.

Dixie’s Gifts & Hair Salon is open Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A festive open house is planned for early February.

Winter warehouse sale set
DeWhitt Appliance has announced it will be holding its annual Winter Warehouse Sale Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 13 and 14 at its retail showroom at 12518 N.E. Airport Way.

Savings on one-of-a-kind special purchases, close-outs and floor models will be offered on brand name major home appliances, including washers and dryers, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, ovens and wine coolers from leading manufacturers, including Amana, Kitchen Aide, Maytag, Whirlpool and Frigidaire.

“Just twice each year, we are able to put together this special pricing event, which provides a great opportunity for people to upgrade their major home appliances or consider getting a second refrigerator or freezer for their garage or vacation homes,” said Brian Newsom, owner of DeWhitt Appliance.

In addition to great values, shoppers will be treated to root beer floats and hot dogs on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., radio personality Dave Arthur from 104.1 the Fish will be on site broadcasting live and handing out station prizes. Also on Saturday, KXL’s Mr. Barbecue will be on site from 1 to 3 p.m. offering tasty samples to shoppers.

No interest financing until January 2008 is available on approved credit.

DeWhitt will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Dewitt Appliance has been in business on the east side of Portland since 1969. In 2000, DeWhitt moved into its Northeast 122nd Avenue and Airport Way showroom, featuring new products on display within more than a dozen stylish kitchen vignettes. DeWhitt Appliance, Portland’s appliance experts, serves customers throughout Portland and Vancouver, offering factory direct pricing plus free and green removal of existing appliances with each new purchase. DeWhitt also offers on-site kitchen design.
