DeWhitt Appliance captures role on TV makeover show A Parkrose area home will be featured in the new season of A&E's long-running hit series, Sell this House: Extreme, set to air July 21. A major part of the extreme makeover included a completely remodeled kitchen, featuring a suite of Frigidaire stainless steel appliances supplied by DeWhitt Appliance, 12518 N.E. Airport Way. Working within the production budget and quick timeline, we were able to deliver and install the new appliances, and like many others are eager to see the end result of the home makeover, said Nick Clark, sales manager at DeWhitt. The single-family ranch-style home, located at 13716 N.E. Brazee Ct., was built in 1957. Besides the new kitchen, renovations include new carpet, revitalizing the natural hardwood floors, new light fixtures, new doors and paint featuring an updated color palette throughout the home. In today's tough real-estate market, it takes more than just de-cluttering and rearranging to get a home sold, said Tanya Memme, host of the show, and hopefully, this will inspire and entertain other area homeowners. DeWhitt is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. In addition to its new appliance showroom featuring Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Frigidaire, Electrolux, DCS other major brand names, DeWhitt also has an appliance liquidation center that offers close-outs, floor models and special purchases at great prices. When you're ready to make upgrades to your home, think of DeWhitt first. Drop in or call them at 503-546-4212. PCHS signs pro as new coach
He also served as a staff coach at former Blazers Head Coach Nate McMillan's basketball camps. Lyslo said working with the Portland Trailblazers gave him a chance to partner with and learn from a highly experienced coaching staff. Working for the Blazers was a great opportunity, Lyslo said. I got to be around some of the best coaches in the world. He is set to bring that expertise to the Portland Christian basketball program this fall and is respectful of what has already been put in place. There's a lot of tradition and history here already, Lyslo said. It's been one of the top programs on the 2a level for a number of years. Lyslo said this position will give him an opportunity to get back out there and coach. He previously coached basketball at Reynolds High School. Portland Christian's Athletic Director Dana Larson believes Lyslo will add a lot of expertise to the school's long tradition of successful basketball teams. I'm really excited for our basketball players to be under Coach Lyslo's mentoring and training, Larson said. He has been in and around the highest level of basketball and will be a tremendous coach to our boys who want to develop and play at the next level. In keeping with Portland Christian basketball's winning history, Lyslo has big plans for his players with a strategy based on defense. It starts and ends with defense, Lyslo said. We're going to be one of the best defensive teams next year for sure. Above all, Lyslo hopes to have a lasting, personal impact on the players, both on and off the court. I want to challenge our players daily, he said. Spiritually, mentally, and physically. |
