Parkrose mainstay gets facelift, schedules celebration

Parkrose Ace Hardware, 10625 N.E. Sandy Blvd, celebrates its grand re-opening Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 12, 13 and 14. The ribbon cutting, Friday, April 12 at 11:30 a.m., features the Parkrose Business Association and University of Portland Army ROTC. The community, media and government officials are invited to attend. Festivities will begin Friday and Saturday at 7 a.m., and Sunday at 8 a.m., and include free refreshments, live music entertainment, the Parkrose High School cheerleaders, manufacturer's representatives, product demonstrations, kid's crafts, spin to win prizes, and more.

Parkrose Ace Hardware, owned and operated by the Ableidinger family, has been part of the Parkrose community since 1965.

The current 50,000 square foot store is the third building Parkrose Hardware has occupied in the Parkrose area over the past 48 years. With over $500,000 invested in renovation costs that include warm accents of reclaimed wood, stonework and colorful signage, the goal is to make the shopping experience at Parkrose Ace an open, inviting, and customer friendly experience.

“I am excited to reintroduce Parkrose Hardware to our community with a new look that reflects who we truly are. We are proud to offer almost 70,000 different products to our neighbors, with a service touch that has made us a household name in our community,” said Manager of Customer Experience Matt Ableidinger.

After a half-million dollar make-over, Parkrose Hardware is holding a Grand Re-Opening celebration rife with manufacturers reps, product demos, entertainment and free stuff Friday, Saturday and Sunday April 12-14.
