Here is a list of the meals to be served this month in the Mid-county area by Loaves & Fishes. The Mid-County Memo proudly provides this list as a public service. Meals are served at noon Monday through Friday at the Cherry Blossom Senior Services Office in the East Portland Community Center, 740 S.E. 106th Ave. For more information, please call the Cherry Blossom Senior Services Office at 503-988-6073.

 

In addition to the daily selection, Loaves & Fishes provides milk and a choice of coffee or tea with each meal. Loaves & Fishes are offering an alternative main dish with each meal. The second choice is listed with an asterisk, while the main dish is in capital letters. All side dishes listed after the main dish will be included with either meal.

Friday, August 3rd: MEAT LOAF w/ Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Cut Green Beans, Mini Salad Bar, Cranberry Quick Bread, Banana

*Buddhist Delight, Steamed Rice

 

Monday, August 6th: TAMALE CASSEROLE, White Rice, Chuckwagon Corn, Carrot Raisin Salad, White Roll, and Pineapple Tidbits (served to Home Delivered Participants only)

*Welcome Brunch French Toast w/ Blueberries & Syrup, Roasted Sliced Ham, Strawberries, Mini Salad Bar, (served at Meal Sites only)

 

Tuesday, August 7th: BREADED FISH w/ Lemon, Tartar Sauce, Scalloped Potatoes, Stir Fry Vegetables, White Roll, Applesauce

*Salad Bar, Cream of Mushroom Soup

 

Wednesday, August 8th: ROAST BEEF w/ Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Peas & Carrots, Waldorf Salad, Whole Wheat Roll, White Cake w/ Cherry Topping

*Sour Mustard Greens w/ Pork, Steamed Rice

 

Thursday, August 9th: SPAGHETTI w/ MEAT BALLS, Parmesan Cheese, Yellow Wax Beans, Whole Wheat Roll, Strawberry Cheesecake

*Salad Bar, Vegetable Soup

 

Friday, August 10th: CHICKEN SUBGUM, White Rice, Broccoli Cuts, Mini Salad Bar, White Roll, Fresh Melon

*Zucchini Beef w/ Black Bean Sauce, Steamed Rice

 

Monday, August 13th: PORK w/ Noodles, Scandinavian Vegetables, Mini Salad Bar, White Roll, Lemon Pudding

*Cheese Quiche, Asparagus Cuts

 

Tuesday, August 14th: HAMBURGER STEAK w/ Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Chopped Spinach, White Roll, Sugar Plum Cake

*Salad Bar, Split Pea Soup

 

Wednesday, August 15th: BBQ CHICKEN, Roasted Potatoes w/ Garlic, Capri Mix Vegetables, Macaroni Salad, White Rolls, and Strawberry Parfait

Thursday, August 16th: TERIYAKI BEEF TIPS, White Rice, Sugar Snap Peas, White Roll, Bread Pudding
