CHURCHES
Banquet and special services to mark dedication
St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church has announced the completion of its church and hall. The unique vision for its new temple began many years ago. After being located in a cramped, small church on Southeast Holgate Street for many decades, the new church building is the result of growth and spiritual revival within the parish. Like the Orthodox faith itself, this architectural masterpiece reflects both the traditions of the past and functionality of the present.

His Eminence The Most Reverend Metropolitan Philip (Salib), Primate of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, will be in Portland to preside over the consecration and dedication of the new church. The dedicatory festivities will take place Friday through Sunday, Sept. 17 through 19, at 2101 N.E. 162nd Ave. The culmination of the events will occur with the liturgical service of consecration on Sunday and will be preceded by a Grand Banquet Saturday evening celebrating the occasion.

For more information, visit the church website at www.stgeorgeportland.org or call 503-255-6055.
