Rossi Family shares with neighbors at Harvest Festival

Volunteer Kayla Letts, a junior at Parkrose High School, and Ron Nelson, Parkrose Neighborhood Association Vice Chair, supply the chow line with hot dog buns.
The Rossi family, through Rossi Farms on Northeast 122nd and Shaver Street in Parkrose, host many community fundraising events throughout the year, events such as the annual Barn Bash, Harvest Festival and Haunted Hayrides. The Rossi family invites the community to their farm, joining them in supporting Parkrose youth, Parkrose schools, and the Parkrose community generally. On Saturday, September 6 past, the Rossi’s gave back. Again.

On a beautiful late summer evening, about 1,500 of your neighbors gathered at the Rossi farm for almost free hotdogs, watermelon, corn on the cob and soft drinks prepared and served with the help of the Parkrose Neighborhood Association and other volunteers. Families climbed aboard a tractor-pulled wagon for rides through the fields. Children took turns at pitching horseshoes and stood in long lines for the giant inflated slide.

When the sun went down, the outdoor movie screen lit up with the popular animated feature, Shrek. Folks settled into to their lawn chairs and enjoyed the kind of communal evening we hear about from days past.

Why did the Rossi family host this evening? They hosted it to simply thank their community and neighbors for supporting their annual community fundraising efforts.

Well Aldo, Irene, Joe, Nick, Jodi, and the rest of the Rossi family and crew . . . THANK YOU. You all help make Parkrose a unique community and a great place to live.
