East Portland neighborhoods hold cleanup
Residents of East Portland neighborhoods can take advantage of the Spring 2003 Neighborhood Cleanup on Saturday, May 10, 2003, at the Tri-Met Park-n-Ride lot at Southeast 122nd Avenue and East Burnside Street. Enter from Southeast Ash Street. The cleanup will start at 9 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.

Drop boxes will be set up for residents in the East Portland area, (I-205 to Portland/Gresham City limits, from the Clackamas Border to the Columbia River), to dispose of yard debris, old furniture, and tires. The East Portland Neighborhood Office offers this opportunity to encourage residents to clean up their yards and improve the appearance of their neighborhoods. In order to serve the greatest number of residents, only one pickup load of debris will be accepted from each household.

The following fees will be charged to help pay for the cleanup: $15 per pickup load of yard debris; $2 per passenger vehicle tire off the rim ($4 on rim); $30 per pickup load of old furniture and appliances, or a $5 minimum for smaller loads; computer monitors and television sets will be $10 each.

Fees can be waived if they are a hardship. Arrangements must be made in advance; call 503-823-4550.

No food waste, hazardous materials, construction waste, or debris from outside the above noted service area can be accepted. This cleanup is supported by a grant from Metro.

For more information about the cleanup, please call Richard Bixby or Teresa Hatfield, East Portland Neighborhood Office, at 503-823-4550.
