Not content to entertain themselves, the Gateway Area Business Association invited both the Gateway Elks and the Parkrose Business Association (who earlier had a party of its own) to to its assemblage at St. Therese Catholic Church on Dec. 14. Among the guests were the city’s two new City Council members: Commissioner Sam Adams and Mayor Tom Potter. Adams said that during the course of the campaign, “I heard your hopes, your aspirations and your concerns.” Adams said he brought up some of these issues during a recent City Council retreat and was told, “Oh, you can forget about that. The campaign’s over.”

“Well, its not just rhetoric,” Adams said. “It’s about jobs, it’s about city services and it’s about seeing that we in this part of town get our fair share. A lot of good stuff is gonna happen.”
