Foundation auction; save the date
Every spring the Parkrose Educational Foundation throws a party to celebrate students, teachers and staff in the Parkrose School District. This party is also a major fundraiser for the foundation. During the school year, PEF helps support education in the district by funding field trips as well as garden and playground projects; it has purchased technology for classrooms and provided extra support for homeless students and has supported music, drama and athletics district wide.

The theme for this year's auction is Three Cheers for Parkrose Students. It will be held on Saturday, April 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the John Q. Hammons Conference Center at the Holiday Inn-Portland Airport, 8439 N.E. Columbia Blvd. Tickets and more information are available at www.parkroseedfdn.org. Admission is $45 per person. Alumni can purchase a table for $320. Alumni, this is your opportunity to support current students, teachers and staff and to say thank you for your time at Parkrose.

The event will include entertainment, champagne and appetizers during the silent auction and a full dinner including wine during the live auction. Guest rooms at the Holiday Inn will be available for $89 per night. Mention Parkrose when you call to make your reservation, 503-256-5000.

St. Therese School Benefit Auction date set
Join parents and friends as they celebrate students and raise money for St. Therese Catholic School at the annual benefit auction to be held on Saturday, March 13 at the Embassy Suites Portland Airport Hotel.

The theme of the event is Star Light, Star Bright - Helping the Stars of Tomorrow Shine. A highlight of the evening will also be the announcement of the raffle drawing winner. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold at $10 each. First place is the winner's choice: either $1,000 cash or a $1,800 tuition voucher for the 2010-11 school year. THE ARTS
Quilted masterpieces on display at MHCC
"Fabric ... As an Art Form," an exhibit by quilting artist Cheryl L. Brown, will be on display at Mt. Hood Community College in the Fireplace Gallery from Tuesday, Feb. 2 to Thursday, Feb. 25.

"I was introduced to the world of quilting many, many years ago by my grandmother. I think it's safe to say that during those times quilting was not the art form it is today," Brown said. "There is something therapeutic about cutting a beautiful piece of fabric into tiny pieces and then sewing them back together."

The Fireplace Gallery is located in the College Center Lounge on the Gresham Campus, 26000 S.E. Stark St., and is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the Fireplace Gallery, contact Pam Kuretich at 503-491-7260.

Individuals requiring accommodations due to a disability may contact the MHCC Disability Services Office at 503-491-6923 or 503-491-7670 (TDD). Please call at least two weeks prior to the event to ensure availability.
