EVENTS
Cruise In and pancake breakfast
Heavenly Hot Rods - the name conjures up a variety of images. Eighteen months ago it became the vision of Bob Miller a member of Crossroads Church. He wanted to use his car-building skills and experience to mentor youth and involve adults in fellowship around the art and craft of building car creations.

Heavenly Hot Rods members have been meeting on Saturdays for the past 15 months. The oldest members are in their ‘60s and the youngest is 11 years old. They recently completed their first ‘23 Bucket T Hot Rod. The car was entered in the Gateway Area Parade, winning a first place award as part of the Community Float category.

To share with the community what this program has accomplished, The inaugural Heavenly Hot Rods Cruise In has been organized. This free event will take place Saturday, Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crossroads Church, 2505 N.E. 102nd Ave. Thirty classes of Hot Rods will participate for trophies.

As part of this event, the all you can eat Gateway Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast will go from 8 to11 a.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for kids. For additional information, please call 503-445-9980 or visit www.HeavenlyHotRods.org.
