Anniversary celebrated
Jon Turino, Northeast Portland’s “house call” insurance and financial services agent, celebrates his first full-year anniversary as a career agent for Farmers Insurance Group of Companies this month. “It’s been a good year,” says Turino, “with policy growth and assets under management for my clients both increasing substantially. People really like having an agent who will work to their schedule and come to their homes or offices.” Prior to becoming a full time agent, Turino worked in the high tech industry for more than 25 years. He says that working one-on-one with people is a lot more rewarding than the corporate grind and that Farmers’ competitive rates have been a big help in building his agency. With IRA season approaching, he expects the coming year to be even better than the last.

Call Turino at 503-252-5815 for more information.

Insurance agency relocates to airport district
In 1929, Don Bell, Sr. opened a small office in Kent, Wash. out of which he sold insurance. The elder Bell passed the family business on to his son Don Bell, Jr., who joined forces with Gerry Anderson in 1963 to form Bell-Anderson Insurance. Together, they ran the company for more than two decades.

Jim Frost, the company president for the past three years, was one of six employees who bought out Bell and Anderson in 1985. At that time there were 35 employees. Since then, Bell-Anderson has expanded dramatically to 11 offices stretching from Anacortes to Portland.

Bell-Anderson is an independent insurance agency that represents a number of different home, auto, business and life insurance carriers from The Hartford Group to Safeco, among many others. Bell-Anderson prides itself in having a seasoned staff.

The Portland Bell-Anderson office recently relocated to 5933 N.E. Win Sivers Drive. Personal Lines Agent Shannon Dimmitt invites you to stop by or call to learn how Bell-Anderson can serve your insurance needs.

The phone number is 503-292-1687. Dimmitt’s e-mail address is shannond@bell-anderson.com.
