Memo Calendar (continued) ... NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS National Night Out events upcoming Many area neighborhoods will celebrate National Night Out Against Crime. The Argay Neighborhood Association plans a celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Argay Park, Northeast 141st Avenue and Failing Street. Neighbors will enjoy good food, good music, and lots of socializing at what has become the best-attended Argay event of the year. Garage sale and open house coming up The annual Argay neighborhood-wide garage sale is set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 21-23. The Argay neighborhood sits between Northeast 122nd Avenue, 148th Avenue, the I-84 freeway and the Columbia River. The Argay Neighborhood Association organizes this event. Your neighborhood association works on similar events to bring neighbors together and increase livability. To find out which association serves you, contact the East Portland Neighborhood Office at 503-823-4550 or stop by 735 S.E. 106th Ave. and plan to attend one of the meetings listed below. On Monday, July 17, a general membership meeting of the Hazelwood Neighborhood Association will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the East Precinct Community Room, 737 S.E. 106th Ave. The Parkrose Neighborhood Association will meet Tuesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 11100 N.E. Skidmore St. Fire Station 2, 4800 N.E. 122nd Ave., is the site for the Argay Neighborhood Association meeting on Tuesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. The Parkrose Heights Association of Neighbors board will meet on Tuesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. at Parkrose United Methodist Church, 11111 N.E. Knott St. On Thursday, July 20 at 7 p.m., members of the Russell Neighborhood Association will meet at Western States Chiropractic College, 2900 N.E. 132nd Ave. Attend an East Precinct Open House on Saturday, July 22 from noon to 4 p.m. at 737 S.E. 106th Ave. Call 503-823-4800 for details. There will be no July meetings for Centennial Community Association, Glenfair Neighborhood Association, Mill Park Neighborhood Association, Wilkes Community Group, or Woodland Park Neighborhood Association.
