In the January 2002 issue we did a profile on Art Rollins, known as popcorn man around Care Center East Specialty and Rehabilitation facility in Gateway. Rollins showed up every Monday night for over 10 years to make and serve popcorn for the facilitys Monday night movie. Rollins, left, with Care Center East patient Don Jones, operated Menlo Park Plazas Ace Hardware Store for decades with brother Harold Rollins. Art Rollins started this Monday tradition when his wife was a patient at the facility 10 years before. |
