Behind the Scenes at the Ballet: Get a behind the scenes glimpse of the ballet as Oregon Ballet Theatre dancers demonstrate choreography from “The Nutcracker”. Learn about the music, costumes and technique that go into this holiday classic. Sunday, Dec. 4 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Festivals of Light: Storyteller Sarah Stein will enchant families with stories and songs about the three winter festivals of light: Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Space at this program is limited. Free tickets for seating will be available 60 minutes prior to the program. Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Read to the Dogs: Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to therapy dogs from the Dove Lewis Animal Assisted Therapy and Education Program. Preregistration is required. The Science of Lewis and Clark: Lewis and Clark were more than just famous explorers. They were also scientists. Presented by OMSI science educators, you'll learn about the scientific fields of cartography, astronomy, anthropology, and biology Lewis and Clark style! Preregistration is required. Pageturners: Engage in stimulating conversation about books, exchange perspectives about characters and plot, and get to know your neighbors. Sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Talk Time: Talk Time is an informal conversation circle for non-native speakers to practice speaking English. This is not a class, but an opportunity to meet new people, share your culture and have fun. Food will be served. Only English will be spoken. Word Processing I: Learn how to use the basic features of Microsoft Word 2000. Select and modify text, cut and paste, open and save a document, and create your own party invitations.
