Oleg Butin (right) of the Russian-Speaking Public Forum introduces Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury. Periodically the group hosts ‘Slavic Evenings in Portland’ where the representatives of different agencies, businesses, and groups dealing with employment, education, medical, and legal issues, come together to promote and advertise their services to the Slavic residents of Portland and Vancouver. At this meeting on Thursday, March 25, in the grand banquet hall of the Russian-Uzbek-American restaurant “Chai-Hana (“Tea-House”), 10534 N.E. Sandy Blvd., Bradbury was on hand to address immigrant voter registration issues and answer questions from members of the Slavic community. For more information on how the Russian-Speaking Public Forum aids our Mid-County Russian community, call 503-502-7502 or visit www.russianspeakingforum.org.
