Ian Findlay Robertson Jr. (February 1956–January 2017)

Ian was the son of the late Mildred and Ian F. Robertson Sr. Ian was born, raised and employed in Portland. Ian graduated from Parkrose High in 1974 and obtained his B.S. in construction management in 1978 and his M.B.A. in 1979 at Oregon State University. Upon graduation, Ian worked in estimating and project supervision. In 1985, Ian took over the family-owned construction company Robertson, Hay and Wallace, which was founded by his grandfather in 1920. Ian had a passion for construction projects that required restoring, updating and repurposing older buildings while preserving their design and architectural integrity for future generations to enjoy.

Ian had a quick, dry wit and a sharp mind, and he loved an intellectual challenge. Ian leaves behind his devoted wife of 17 years, Judee; sisters, Anne Pfau of Corvallis and Jean Beymer; niece, Katie Beymer (Andrew Nguyen); and nephew, Mike Beymer (Katie) of Portland. His passing was unexpected, and he will be dearly missed. A celebration of life has been held.
