This month, school gets underway in the Parkrose School district without the long-serving teachers, classified staff and district employees who retired in June. In May, the district held a party celebrating its retiring employees. Students and coworkers will miss them as another school year begins.
Those honored included:
Evan McFadden: 30 years, high school alternative center teacher
Lois White: 26 years, media assistant
Darlene Heard: 21 years, lead custodian
Kristi Hall: 19 years, bus driver
Karen Archuleta: 18 years, special education assistant
Mary Larson: 16 years, business services and operations director
Scott Wood: 15 years, maintenance supervisor
David Whitfield: 10 years, high school math teacher.
