The couple, coworkers at Cleary’s Restaurant & Spirits in Menlo Park Plaza, is getting married in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Elvis Chapel.

The small ceremony will include a few close friends, Corbin’s brother, Harry, and his two sons Nick, 22 and Tharon, 35. Dunning’s best friend and cousin, Andrea Holzner, and her aunt, Eileen Moses, will attend her. And, of course, the wedding will be officiated by the King himself.

Dunning’s children — Lauren, 18, and Jacob, 16 — unfortunately, will not be able to attend the ceremony, but will have their own special dinner with the newly minted couple when they return.

Corbin is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, and has lived in Oregon since 1987. Before becoming a bartender and part-time bookkeeper at Cleary’s, he was bar manager at Rose’s Restaurant, formerly in Menlo Park Plaza, and also at the Spot 79 in Southeast Portland.

Dunning, born in Encino, Calif., moved to Portland more than 20 years ago and is a Centennial High School graduate. She also worked at Rose’s Restaurant for 14 years and has been at Cleary’s for the last eight. Their meeting at Rose’s was, as Corbin puts it, “love at first sight.”

Dunning’s wedding dress is lavender with “a lot of sparkle.” Their matching wedding bands have been infused with pixie dust and magic.

The bride and groom extend thanks to their family and friends for all the love and support, especially to their mothers, Mayrose Corbin and Kay Richmond.
