Memo Calendar...(continued) THE ARTS Musical Theatre The Portland Metro Performing Arts (PMPA), 9933 S.E. Pine St., will present Broadway Revue 2003. The program will feature songs, dances and scenes from Bye Bye Birdie, Oklahoma, Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof and 42nd Street. Performances are Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9 at 8 p.m. General admission is $8 for adult and high school students, $5 for children. The PMPA mission is to insure that everyone, particularly youth, have an opportunity to learn, perform and experience the arts; by providing meaningful access to affordable quality arts education and performance programs for the community. One project he has selected is in conjunction with Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 12505 N.E. Halsey St., for the benefit of Snow-CAP Community Charities. Jaxx performs with the Blue Plate Special and will be appearing on the patio at the church on Sunday, August 17 at 3 p.m. You are invited to bring your own lawn chair - folding chairs are available. There is a suggested donation of $6.00 plus three nonperishable food items. Hood Community College Foundation is teeing up for its tenth annual golf scramble and dinner, the Par Excellence, Tuesday, Sept. 9, and golfers are invited to sign-up for this fund-raising event. Event proceeds will be used to help meet special needs at the college, such as student scholarships, teaching and learning equipment and special projects unmet by the colleges traditional funding sources. Community businesses and individuals are needed to donate prizes as well as sponsor holes and carts. Any participant who lands a hole-in-one will win a Buick from Weston Pontiac-Buick-GMC in Gresham. Trips, golf equipment and other merchandise will also be awarded. The scramble is at The Resort at The Mountain, 68010 E. Fairway Avenue in Welches, Ore. Participation costs are $135 for 18 holes of golf and dinner, or $35 for dinner only. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by a complimentary box lunch at 10 a.m. and the scramble at 11 a.m. Dinner and the awards ceremony begin at 5 p.m. Last year golfers and sponsors helped raise approximately $22,000 for MHCC student scholarships and equipment.
