Woodland Park Hospital reopens as Physicians Hospital

LEE PERLMAN
THE MID-COUNTY MEMO

Woodland Park has its hospital back, with a different name and a different, perhaps better, structure. Four physicians associated with the former Woodland Park Hospital, which closed in January, have purchased the 118,000 square foot building at 10300 N.E. Hancock St., and will reopen it as Physicians Hospital LLC. It is expected to open in November following interior and exterior improvements.

The four principals are Dr. Bryce Milam, owner of the Parkrose Chiropractic Clinic; Dr. Timothy Treible of the East Portland Orthopedic Clinic; anesthesiologist and pain management specialist Dr. Carlos Ceballos; and neurosurgeon Dr. Jordi Kellogg. They hope to provide a “holistic” approach to care that utilizes a rare combination of both traditional and non-traditional medical healing techniques.

The partnership has purchased the building for $5 million, including a $500,000 loan from the Portland Development Commission. They plan to employ 205 people.

Woodland Park Neighborhood Association Chairwoman Alesia Reese told the Memo, “We’re excited about the hospital being re-opened. The doctors came together to create a for-profit business. To have this kind of medical care close by is a tremendous asset to our community. We see nothing but positive things here.” Among other things, the association had been accustomed to using the hospital as a meeting space.
