Merchants Bancorp, principal subsidiary for MBank, has announced the promotion of Vicky Mills to vice president and director of compliance, reporting to bank President Tom Perrick.

“Vicky’s legal acumen has won her the respect of her colleagues, federal and state regulators, and other top companies in the industry,” Perrick said. “I’m excited about the opportunity we’ll have to rely on her skill and dedication as we address new challenges and opportunities in the years ahead.”

In addition to compliance, Mills will continue to serve as the company Bank Secrecy Act officer and Community Reinvestment Act officer and will oversee the internal auditing department, ensuring MBank’s compliance under rapidly changing bank and consumer protection laws.

Last November Mills was awarded the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, fulfilling the work experience, education, ethics and examination requirements to earn the accreditation.

Mills frequently speaks at both public and internal forums on issues related to identity protection, privacy, and online security issues. As an influential member of the Oregon Bankers Association, Mills was recently invited by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to attend the Anti-Money Laundering seminar, where she represented community bank BSA officers as a panelist.

Mills also serves as president of the Sandy Mountain Festival Association and is a second vice president of the Kiwanis Club of Sandy.
