SENIOR RESOURCES
Prostate cancer support group endures
It’s somewhat unusual for men to get together to talk about their private dealings with disease, but that’s what happens twice a month with the Providence Milwaukie Man-to-Man Prostate Cancer Support Group.

Free and open to the public, Man-to-Man is a support group for men diagnosed with prostate cancer. The group promotes awareness of the disease, its treatments and provides support for patients. Meetings are run and facilitated by men. Spouses and significant others are welcome. A guest speaker is featured each month.

The June 16 meeting will feature medical oncologist Brendan Curti, M.D., director of Genitourinary Oncology Research at the Providence Cancer Center. He will be talking about experimental vaccines used to boost the body’s immune system to fight prostate cancer.
The group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the first and third Thursdays of the month in the Mother Joseph Conference Room of Providence Milwaukie Hospital, located at 10150 S.E. 32nd Avenue, Milwaukie. For more information call 503-513-8175.
