WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM HER FRIENDS - Owner Rhonda Jo Kaer (middle) of Rhonda Jo’s Deli and Espresso with two of her very helpful friends. Stacie Taylor (left) and Dawn Christensen (right).
Rhonda
Jo’s American dream comes true Tucked
away on a little dead end street off 105th Ave. and Sandy Blvd.,
you’ll find a hidden jewel. Located
in Parkrose at 10314 N.E. Marx St., this building houses quite a
surprise. But this cozy
corner didn’t appear from nowhere.
Re-modeling began as soon as Rhonda Jo Kaer saved enough money to
buy the business in February 2001.
Walls came down and paint went up as Kaer continued to work at
her full time job as an Accounting Supervisor, renovating in her spare
time and on weekends. Finally,
the work was complete and Rhonda Jo’s Deli & Espresso celebrated
its grand opening on March 1, 2001.
Kaer says that if not for the help and support of her family and
friends, her dream would not have come true.
Thanks to husband Carey Kaer, children Kendra and Kyle, and
friends of the family, as well as her own indefatigable energy, Kaer has
created a wonderful, welcoming restaurant.
After seven years as an Accounting Supervisor for a large
company, Kaer now owns Rhonda Jo’s Deli & Espresso.
Rhonda
Jo’s Deli & Espresso is open for breakfast, lunch and for after
work wind down when specials are offered.
The deli is open Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 6
p.m., Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The deli is closed on Sundays, to allow Ronda Jo and her
helpers and friends a day of rest. Rhonda
Jo’s Deli & Espresso knows how to treat customers.
Rhonda knows most of her customers by name, brightening their
meals with the friendly atmosphere. Food is made as ordered, so everything is fresh and made just
for you. Rhonda Jo’s also offers customers free coffee and tea with a
punch card. Weekly business
card drawings are held. The
winner receives a free lunch. In
addition to all of this, Rhoda Jo’s Deli & Espresso offers beer,
wine, and even video lottery. If
you’d like to reduce your waiting time, Rhonda Jo’s Deli encourages
you to call your order ahead to 503-257-4915.
You may also fax orders to 503-257-8793. You
should typically call or fax an order 30 minutes prior to arrival.
If you have a large group order, as much notice as possible is
appreciated. Catering of
breakfast or lunch meetings is also available with at least 24 hours
notice. Neighborhood
