Superintendent spreads the word success To the editor: Parkrose High School has been rated outstanding by the Oregon Report Card. This is a tremendous honor for our high school. This has been a team effort! Strategic systems of intervention, knowing each student individually and the diligent use of quality data to inform best instructional practice are the keys to student achievement. The high school is a great example to other high schools of what can happen when you use these keys and have high quality teachers, staff and administrators. The high school's outstanding rating is based on the consistent growth in student achievement they have achieved over time. Slow, steady and strategic wins the race! All of our Parkrose Schools received good news on their report cards. We do not have any schools that did not receive at least a satisfactory rating. Congratulations to all of our schools and their staff, parents, students and administrators. Today, special congratulations go out to the outstanding staff, students, parents, community and administration of Parkrose High School! Keep Going Broncos!! Karen Fischer Gray Proud Parkrose Superintendent Madison High says thanks To the Editor: The Madison High School Library Book Drive and Book Sale was a big success! We made $2,524.50, exceeding our $2,000 goal. We are grateful for the outpouring of generous book donations, cash donations sent in by people who could not attend, and volunteer support the weekend of the sale. Our book drive generated donations from throughout our community and city. Pam's Fine Books offered us guidance in holding our first Used Book Sale. Madison student musicians serenaded us throughout the sale. Volunteers clocked 246 hours during the sale weekend alone. We realized our vision of a community-building event focused on books and literacy. We now have some much-needed funds to buy new books for our school library and can fill student and teacher requests we've received already this school year. A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped. Nancy Sullivan Madison High School Librarian |
