Antiques and collectibles in Montavilla
Leonard and Ann Smith of West Coast Antiques, Inc. opened Antique Mercantile in the Montavilla neighborhood in December. When you browse the isles at 8419 S.E. Stark St. you will find a wide assortment of inventory ranging from fine porcelains, glassware, art, lighting, jewelry and furniture dating from the Victorian era to the early 20th century.

Items are selected from private estates and new inventory arrives often.

Parr Cabinet outlet opens in Parkrose
The Parr Cabinet Outlet Company has moved from its Northeast Airport Way location to 12312 N.E. Whitaker Way.

The cabinet outlet features an array of cabinet options and wood species ranging from traditional oak and maple, to more exotic African mahogany or black walnut. Regular store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

In addition to cabinets, countertops, appliances, and hardware, a full selection of flooring from Floor Solutions will be available as well. The BEST Business Center and the city of Portland invite Portland's most sustainable organizations to compete against the best in the metro area for the prestigious, juried 19th annual Businesses for an Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow awards. The BEST awards celebrate Portland businesses that exemplify ambitious and creative solutions for sustainable operations, building projects or products while promoting social, economic and environmental equity for the community.

Applications are being sought in four separate categories: BEST practices for sustainability, sustainable products or services, green building and sustainable food systems. The winners will be announced at the BEST awards breakfast on April 19 at the Hilton in downtown Portland.

The BEST Business Center provides free tools and advice to help businesses in Portland become more profitable and sustainable. It is a partnership of city and regional government programs and energy utilities, including the city of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, Portland Water Bureau, Portland Bureau of Transportation, Portland Bureau of Environmental Services, Metro, Pacific Power, Portland Development Commission and Portland General Electric.
