Loaves & Fishes...

Following is a list of the meals to be served this month in the Mid-county area by Loaves and Fishes. The Mid-county Memo proudly offers this menu as a public service.

Meals are served at noon Monday through Friday at the Cherry Blossom Senior Services Office in the East Portland Community Center, 740 S.E. 106th Ave. There is a suggested donation of $2.25. Participants are asked to pay what they can comfortably afford. For more information, please call the Cherry Blossom Loaves and Fishes at 503-256-2381.

In addition to the daily selection, Loaves & Fishes provide milk and a choice of coffee or tea with each meal. Loaves and Fishes offer an alternative main dish with each meal. The second choice is listed with a bullet, while the main dish is in capitals. Side dishes listed after the main dish will be included with either selection.


Thursday, Feb. 2: GINGER TURKEY, White Rice, Cut Green Beans, Tossed Salad with Ranch Dressing, Whole Wheat Roll, Tangerine
• Vegetarian Sandwich with Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Lettuce, Swiss and American Cheese, Mayonnaise Package, Red Bean and Rice Soup

Friday, Feb. 3: HONEY GLAZED PORK ROAST, Mashed Potatoes, Lima Beans, Red and White Slaw, Whole Wheat Roll, Carrot Cake
• Chicken Fajita with Refried Beans, Cheese, Peppers, Onions, Salsa and Sour Cream

Monday, Feb. 6: CHICKEN with NOODLES, Capri Mix Vegetables, Broccoli Cut, Chilled Pineapple, Whole Wheat Roll, Brownie with Chocolate Frosting
• Canadian Bacon and Cheese Quiche

Tuesday, Feb. 7: SALISBURY STEAK with Gravy, Colcannon, Oregon Bean Medley, Mixed Greens with Bleu Cheese Dressing (MOW - Italian Dressing), Whole Wheat Roll, Pear Halves with Cranberry Sauce

Wednesday, Feb. 8: BREADED FISH with Lemon Wedge and Tartar Sauce, Scalloped Potatoes, Diced Carrots, Creamy Coleslaw, Whole Wheat Roll, Chocolate Zucchini Cake
• Chicken Fried Steak with Country Gravy

Thursday, Feb. 9: TURKEY TETRAZZINI, Peas and Pearl Onions, Marinated Green Beans, Whole Wheat Roll, Seasonal Fresh Fruit
• Barbecue Meatball Sandwich with Shredded Cheese on Hoagie Bun, Southwestern Style Bean Soup

Friday, Feb. 10: FIESTA CHICKEN with Sour Cream and Salsa, Brown Rice, Chuckwagon Corn, Spinach with Red Cabbage and French Dressing, Whole Wheat Roll, Vanilla Custard
