From August 1988, your Mid-county Memo's front page. On it you'll see three stories. One story is on the demolition of the Silver Skate Roller Rink, replaced by CUB Foods, a giant-sized discount warehouse grocery store, the first of its kind in Mid-County; WinCo Foods now
occupies the location. Another story is on the neighborhood's and city's battle with Senn's Dairy location on Glisan Street, now gone. And a third story on the fairly new Mid-County Neighbors Office struggling with budgetary woes during its infancy.
