After a 12-hour search that began around 1 a.m. this morning, four men suspected of robbing Rounders Cafe, 11416 N.E. Halsey St. in Gateway were apprehended by police; one, 34-year-old Antonio Denon Carter of Northeast Portland (also known as Anthony Williams), was found hiding on the roof of a nearby house.
When officers from East Precinct arrived, suspects were fleeing from the scene on foot southward into the neighborhood. Police set up a perimeter from Northeast Halsey to Glisan Streets, from 112th to 118th Avenues. Patrol officers from East Precinct stopped a vehicle leaving the area and arrested the driver, 35-year-old Mckeever Watkins Thompson Jr. of Northeast Portland, as one of the robbery suspects.

Early this morning, police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to Rounder’s Café, a lottery deli, at 11416 Northeast Halsey Street on a report of an armed robbery in progress.
Arriving officers observed three suspects fleeing the area on foot. Two African American males and one white male; all three were last seen wearing dark clothing.
Officers immediately established a perimeter. The perimeter boundaries were Northeast 112th Avenue to 118th Avenue, Halsey Street to Glisan Street.
Once the perimeter was established officers activated the Special Emergency Reaction Team. S.E.R.T. is called when suspects in violent felonies like armed robbery occur. SERT has the additional training and tools available to them to resolved dangerous situations like this one.

Last night, just past midnight, Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to reports of a man shot at Northeast 82nd Avenue and Thompson Street.
The first officer on the scene found a man who had died as a result of a gunshot wound. A second man was also shot and was transported to an area hospital and it is believed that he will recover from non-life threatening injuries.
Officers preserved the crime scene and notified homicide Detectives to respond. Homicide Detectives arrived and began their investigation; the investigation is continuing.

кухненски диваниA news Release from Portland Police Bureau about the arrest of two men, one a minor, for holding up an outer Southeast Portland resident at gunpoint after meeting him on Craigslist for the ostensible purpose of buying the victim’s laptop.
This afternoon, Monday February 28, 2011, at approximately 4:02 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to a residence in the 11200 block of Southeast Insley Street on the report of an armed robbery. No injuries were reported and the victim told police that the suspects were both armed with handguns and stole his computer.

A news release from the Portland Police Bureau about an armed robbery at the Ace Tavern on Sandy Blvd last night follows:
This evening, Tuesday February 22, 2011, at approximately 6:08 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to the Ace Tavern, located at 8868 Northeast Sandy Boulevard, on the report of an armed robbery. Officers received information that the suspect entered the bar armed with a handgun and demanded money.
Officers arrived in the area and learned that the suspect fled the area on foot. Officers used a K-9 Unit to search the neighborhood but did not locate the suspect.

A news release from the Portland Police Bureau about a stabbing at an outer east Portland strip club follows:
At approximately 1:30 a.m., this morning, January 21, 2011, Portland Police responded to a fight at the Dream On Saloon located at 15920 Southeast Stark Street. After an initial investigation, officers learned that a 21-year-old male, later identified as Dontrelle Williams, was armed with a knife and fighting with two unidentified males.
During the altercation, Williams stabbed a 21-year-old male who was not part of the fight. The 21-year-old male victim was transported to an area hospital with a stab wound to his thigh. A 21-year-old female associate of Williams also received minor injuries during the fight. The female victim was transported to an area hospital and later released.

Last night, around midnight, a young woman driving a Mercedes Benz ran over and killed a man in outer east Portland. A news release and update from the Portland Police Bureau follows:
The Portland Police Major Crash Team confirmed the identity of the deceased pedestrian from the overnight hit and run. Witnesses told police they saw a black vehicle, possibly a Mercedes Benz, hit 38-year-old Rance Lee Lamb from Southeast Portland as he crossed Southeast Division Street in the 12600 block.

A news release from the Portland Police about a sword wielding suspect’s dispute with a neighbor follows.
Thursday December 30, 2010, at approximately 11:12 p.m., Portland Police Gang Enforcement Team officers were on patrol in the area of Southeast 92nd and Stark Street when they saw a man armed with a sword run into an apartment in the 9200 Block of Southeast Stark.
Officers requested cover units to respond and they located an assault victim in a different apartment. The victim, 39-year-old Raashid Salaam, had a cut on his hand and was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

from the article’s description, it sounds like a despairing individual chose suicide by police.

A news release from Portland Police Bureau about yesterday’s shooting in east Portland follows.
This evening, Monday December 6, 2010 at approximately 8:27 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to the area of Northeast 117th Avenue and San Rafael Street on numerous reports of shots fired. An additional call came in from a residence located in the 2100 block of Northeast 117th Avenue and the caller told police that a male at the house had been shot.
Medical personnel arrived and transported the 20-year-old male gunshot victim to an area hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim did not live at the residence and was there visiting friends at the house.
