We received a note from über Parkrose schools volunteer Allison Newman Woods. It follows. It seems Allison, along with Superintendent Dr. Karen Fischer Gray are the progenitors behind the formation of a new group of Parkrose Patrons focused on enhancing the music experience at Parkrose Schools.

“Hello, as many of you know, Dr. Gray and I have been spreading the word about an exciting new program designed to raise funds and offer volunteer support for the Parkrose Scool District’s music programs throughout the District. We settled on a date for our kick off meeting, Tuesday, July 7 at 4 p.m. at the District Office., 10636 N.E. Prescott St.

Another note from über volunteer Allison Newman-Woods. volunteers are needed this Friday at the Parkrose High School at the school in east Portland. It follows:

“Hi, I am looking for some volunteers to do coat check at this Friday’s dance at PHS.  We need people to work from 6:30-10:30 on Friday, May 29. If you are willing and able to help, please let me know.

We received a note from Allison Newman-Woods, Parkrose Educational Foundation Board member and chair for its annual dinner/auction. Her missive has the 2009 auction results. and a PEF news note follows:

Parkrose Educational Foundation Auction and Board News

Monday, in an unexpected move, Parkrose High School Community Center principal Roy Reynolds was  reassigned vice-principal at the middle  school.

Parkrose Middle School principal Ana Gonzales takes over for Reynolds, creating a vacancy  filled by Molly Davies.

A Parkrose School District statement sent to parents follows:

“Parkrose School District is undergoing changes. One of these changes is a shift in leadership beginning May 11, 2009 and will continue into the next school year.

At Parkrose High School, we have a new principal. Ms. Ana Gonzalez, principal from Parkrose Middle School is our new Principal. Mr. Roy Reynolds will be the new Assistant Principal at Parkrose Middle School.

A note from the dynamo of volunteer energy otherwise known as Allison Newman-Woods follows. The auction date is Saturday, April 25 at the Airport Holiday Inn is east Portland. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased online.

“In 11 days the Parkrose Educational Foundation will host the 6th Annual Dinner and Auction.  Please join us for this fun event and help support our kids!

We received an e-mail from Parkrose super volunteer Allison Newman-Woods. She’s looking for volunteers from the Parkrose business community to join the “new” Parkrose middle and high school athletic booster groups.
