Rossi Farms no more
In an exclusive announcement to this newspaper, owner and operator Joe Rossi announced Friday, March 9 that Parkrose landmark Rossi Farms will cease operating this year.
Neighbor Al Garre is slated to continue farming the outer east Portland plots for the foreseeable future.
In addition, the 126-year-old institution will cease the operation of the signature red barn, site of retail produce sales.
Located near the intersection of Northeast 122nd Avenue and Shaver Street, Rossi Farms began in 1880 as an Italian immigrant’s dream of a better life.
The Memo will continue to track the story and provide further details when and if available.
