Police investigate Hazelwood armed robbery
Tonight, around 7:30 p.m., police responded to the report of an armed robbery at Kim’s Beauty Salon, 14011 S.E. Division St., in the Hazelwood neighborhood.
Officers arrived and spoke with the victim who told police that a man entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the gunman fled the business on foot, police said.
The robber is described as a white male in his 20s, 5’8″ tall, medium build, short brown hair, wearing a hoody.
Police conducted a search in the surrounding neighborhood, but did not locate anyone matching the man’s description.
The police remind business owners to regularly check to see that surveillance cameras are working properly and recording, as video and images greatly assist investigators in solving crimes.
Police also encourage businesses without surveillance systems to invest in one and train employees on their use.
