Free ABC’s of Land Use workshop

We received an e-mail from Office of Neighborhood Involvement Neighbohood Resource Center Manager Brian Hoop about a land-use workshop being held in February. Here it is.

 Saturday, February 9, 2008  9:00 AM to 1:00 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Medical Building #2 1040 NW 22nd Ave. North and  South Conference Room Entrance at Southeast corner of intersection of N.W. 22nd Avenue and N.W. Marshall Street.
Workshop is free and open to the public.
Pre-registration is required.  Space is limited to 25 people.
Learn about the City of Portland’s land use and development review processes. Get hands-on experience responding to typical issues that come up in land use reviews.
Presented by Brian Sheehan, Bureau of Planning and Jacob Brostoff and Ronda Fast, Bureau of Development Services, and a neighborhood association land use leader. 

What you will learn:

·         Overview of how state, Metro, and City land use goals and policies are organized.

·         What Land Use Reviews (LUR’s) are.

·         The difference between Type I, II, IIx and III applications.

·         How to read a land use notice and how to respond.
Who should attend:

·         Neighborhood and Business Association land use activists

·         Anyone thinking about getting more active with their Association’s land use committees

·         Anyone interested in general City related land use decision-making processes
