Parkrose School Board member files for Metro Council seat

U.S. Postal clerk Alesia Reese,  member of the Parkrose School Board and Woodland Park Neighborhood Association chair, filed for the recently vacated District 6 seat on the Metro Council. One other candidate, Martha Dibblee, has also filed for the seat.

Metro Council District 6, the smallest in area, is fairly rectangular is shape and runs from Portland’s west side across the Willamette River through inner southeast Portland with Powell Blvd. running through the middle, and stretches as far east as 148th with I-84 the northern boundary, with the Multnomah, Clackamas County line the southern border.

Crossroads Christian School in east Portland starts children’s choir

Crossroads Christian School at 2505 N.E. 102nd Ave. is starting a community children’s choir to be called Crossroads Christian Children’s Choir. Although auditions are required for admittance, the choir is open to all children from the community, not just Crossroads Christian School students. It is meant for grades 3 through 8. The cost to join is $75.

The audition date is Thursday, Jan. 10, from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Rehearsals are set from Thursday, Jan. 17 through March 20, from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Performance dates will be announced; stay tuned to the Memo for updates.
