92nd Avenue partially closed for three days

The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that paving work requires the partial closure of SE 92nd Avenue between S.E. Division Street and S.E. Powell Boulevard beginning today through Thursday, January 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.


Fatal Crash at 102nd Avenue at East Burnside Street

A news Release from the Portland Police Bureau about a fatal crash at 102nd Avenue and East Burnside Street follows:

This morning, Thursday January 20, 2011, at approximately 2:21 a.m., Portland Police officers responded to the report of a traffic crash on East Burnside Street at 102nd Avenue. Responding officers learned that an ambulance, onscene for an unrelated medical call, had been struck by a vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle died at the scene.

The intersection of East Burnside and 102nd Avenue is closed in all directions as officers from the Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division’s Major Crash Team begin an investigation into the crash.  Traffic will be affected for the next few hours.


Glisan Street lane closures in outer east Portland begin Monday

The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the public that road work on Northeast Glisan Street — between 131st and 148th Avenues — requires lane closures and begins Monday, Jan. 10 through Monday, Jan. 24, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. week days.

The lane closures are necessary for grinding work in preparation for re-paving in the spring.

At least one lane in each direction will remain open through the duration of the work. There will be access to residences and businesses.

The public is advised to expect delays and travel cautiously while flaggers direct traffic through the work zone.


Dark, dank, dismal Division St. dangerous for pedestrians

Outer east Portland’s Division St. is a dangerous place for pedestrians these days. A news release from the Portland Police Bureau about another pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle — the second in less than 24-hours — follows:

This afternoon, Wednesday January 5, 2011, at approximately 1:49 p.m., Portland Police responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 17000 Block of Southeast Division Street. Officers and medical personnel arrived and found a 47-year-old female suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.


Icy road update — open

Earlier today, a section of 238th Avenue in east county was closed. the steep section of 238th Ave. between Glisan St. and
Arata Road in Wood Village has reopened after crews removed ice from the roadway.

Multnomah County has issued a travel advisory for eastern Multnomah County.

A steep section of 238th Avenue between Glisan Street and  Arata Road in Wood Village is closed due to ice on the roadway.
The road will remain closed today and tonight.  Alternate routes include 257th and 223rd Avenues.?


Police Investigate Deadly Shooting on Southeast Division

ъглови леглаA News Release from the Portland Police Bureau about last night’s deadly shooting at the Good Call Sports Bar & Grill on Southeast 110th and Division Street follows.

Early this morning, Saturday October 23, 2010 at approximately 12:58 a.m., Portland Police officers responded to the Good Call Sports Bar & Grill, located at 11010 Southeast Division Street, on the report of four people shot. Officers arrived and located several gunshot victims.

A 28-year-old Asian male was deceased at the scene, and three others were seriously injured. The three surviving victims are a 30-year-old Asian male, a 21-year-old Asian male, and a 41-year-old Asian male. All three were taken to area hospitals with gunshot wounds and are expected to survive.


Pedestrian hit crossing Sandy Boulevard

A news release from the Portland Police Bureau about a car hitting a pedestrian on Sandy Boulevard in east Portland follows. The Portland Police Major Crash Team is investigating.

“At approximately 7:30 p.m. on September 8, 2010, a 31 year-old male pedestrian was hit by a Ford Escape SUV as he crossed Northeast Sandy Boulevard. The pedestrian crossed in the 9700 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard approximately 100 feet from the nearest crosswalk.

“The driver of the SUV stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the Portland Police Major Crash Team as they investigate this accident. Both east and westbound traffic on Northeast Sandy Boulevard is blocked at this time.


Division St. lane closures begin Monday

Be advised: we received a traffic advisory about lane closures on Southeast Division St. at 109th Avenue beginning Monday.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the public that beginning Monday, April 12, SE Division Street at SE 109th Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction for street repairs due to a water main break. The public is advised to expect delays in the area for a week and a half and to choose alternate routes if possible.

“The hours of the lane closures are weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lanes are expected to be re-opened Thursday, April 22. Work is weather dependent.”
