Traffic Advisory: Northeast 114th Avenue closure

According to Portland’s Bureau Transportation, Northeast 114th Avenue, between Northeast Multnomah and Oregon streets, will be closed for one week beginning Tuesday, Dec. 6 for re-paving. Street closure is necessary for the re-paving work.

Northeast 114th Avenue will be closed for re-paving beginning Dec. 6.

Northeast 114th Avenue, between Northeast Multnomah Street and Northeast Oregon Streets, will be closed to all through traffic beginning Tue., Dec. 6 through Fri., Dec. 9 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Department of Transportation warns drivers to travel cautiously and observe detours and directions by flaggers.

Pedestrian hurt in vehicle crash on Northeast 102nd Avenue

Just after midnight last night, a Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office deputy discovered a disabled vehicle facing northbound in the southbound lanes of Northeast 102nd Avenue near Northeast Campaign Street in the City of Maywood Park.

Parked in a driveway on Northeast 102nd Avenue, this Jeep Wrangler was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on 102nd Avenue last night.

The deputy made contact with the driver who was standing on the sidewalk next to the vehicle. Shortly after checking on the 16-year-old driver, the deputy saw an adult male sitting on the west sidewalk of Northeast 102nd Avenue, a few blocks south of the vehicle.  The man, a pedestrian, was bleeding from the head and was transported by paramedics to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

122nd Avenue Green Streets construction update

Memo readers will recall an item in the September issue outlining plans for Green Street Projects construction along Northeast 122nd Avenue between Fremont and Shaver streets in Parkrose. (Memo Pad—“Green Street Projects”) Since then you may have noticed a period of inactivity at that site. Demolition and construction of the facilities between Fremont and Shaver has been temporarily delayed.

Paving and construction on Northeast Shaver Street at 131st Place is part of the 122nd Ave. Green Street Project.

Crews have already completed initial survey and saw cutting of existing asphalt to prepare the site for demolition. However, the contractor must coordinate with local providers to relocate underground utility lines. This may take several weeks.

Bridge reconstruction forces four-week closure of Southeast 122nd Ave.

Bridge reconstruction will close Southeast 122nd Avenue over Johnson Creek will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, Sept., 19, at 9 a.m. The bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays, with the work expected to be completed by October 14.

Northbound traffic will be detoured at Southeast Flavel St. to Southeast 112th Ave to Southeast 110th Dr. to Southeast Foster Rd. and back to Southeast 122nd Ave.

Foster Road lane closures Wednesday, Thursday

As a result of a water main break, lane closures will be necessary on Southeast Foster Road between Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast Lafayette Street beginning 7 a.m. on Wed., Sept. 7, through 4 p.m. on Thu., Sept. 8, while the street is being repaired.

The eastbound turn lane from Southeast Powell Blvd onto Southeast Foster Rd will also be closed.

Traffic on Southeast Powell Blvd. wanting to travel east onto Southeast Foster Rd. will be detoured to Southeast 52nd Ave, then south to Southeast Foster Rd. Local access to residences and business will be provided.

The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, and observe detours.

122nd Avenue Green Street Project gets underway this month

Brandt Construction has begun work on green street facilities — formerly known as bioswales — on Northeast 122nd Avenue between Fremont and Shaver streets. While the hope is to get as much work done as possible before students head back to school, the project will not be completed by then.

Initial sawcutting was done on the east side of the avenue, followed by cutting on the west side. No vehicle traffic lanes are likely to be closed during preliminary work, however, the sidewalk, parking and bike lanes will be closed. Signs will be set out to notify the public of work in the road. There will also be signs to let cyclists and pedestrians know of closures ahead. Plates and fencing are used over and around excavations during non-construction hours; work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Marine Drive lane closures begin 8/29

иконографияиконописThe City of Portland Bureau of Transportation wants the public to know that lane closures on Northeast Marine Drive will be necessary between Northeast 33rd Drive and I-205 beginning Monday, August 29, through Friday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. week days for street maintenance.

Traffic will be flagged through the work zone. Expect delays, travel cautiously, observe directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

Please note construction crews will be working in the area from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. week days. There will be access to local residents and businesses. The work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.

Southeast Stark Street lane closures begin Friday

This Friday, a two-week lane closure on Southeast Stark St. begins for re-paving

The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public lane closures will be necessary on Southeast Stark St. between SE 102nd Ave. and I-205 beginning Friday, July 8, through Friday, July 22, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays while the street is being re-paved.

One travel lane will be open at all times; local access to residences and businesses will be provided.

Expect delays and travel cautiously; flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone; use alternate routes if possible.

Lane closures on 102nd Avenue through March 25

The City’s Bureau of Transportation wants drivers to know lane closures will be necessary on S.E. 102nd Avenue between E Burnside Street and S.E. Stark Street beginning tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, through Friday, March 25, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Grinding work in preparation for re-paving in the spring necessitates the lane closures.

 

One lane in each direction will be open at all times. Local access to residences and businesses will be provided.

The public is advised to expect delays and travel cautiously while flaggers direct traffic through the work zone.

If possible, use alternate routes This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.

Lane closures on Northeast Glisan St. through Feb. 11

Lane closures will continue on Northeast Glisan Street between Northeast 148th and 162nd Avenues today through Friday, Feb. 11, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays. The lane closures are necessary for grinding work in preparation for re-paving in the spring.

Local access to residences and businesses is provided.

Expect delays and travel cautiously while flaggers direct traffic through the work zone. Use alternate routes if possible.
