A person who committed suicide after firing shots in the garage of an outer southeast Portland residence has been identified as 43-year-old Joshua Stallings.
On Friday evening, police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a call of shots fired at a residence in the 13500 block of Southeast Salmon Street. Upon arriving, officers learned the suspect was the ex-boyfriend of a woman who lived at the residence.
According to the police news release, the man, despondent came to the residence with a gun and threatened to kill the house’s occupants. Stallings fired two shots in the garage and people in the house fled. Based on the information provided to officers at the scene, the Special Emergency Reaction Team was activated per Portland Police Bureau policy.

Tonight, near 10 p.m., a home invasion robbery took place in the 2700 block of Northeast 102nd Avenue in east Portland’s Parkrose neighborhood.
Prior to arriving at the scene, officers learned there were three armed suspects wearing masks. A husband and wife and their adult son were the victims of the residential robbery.
The husband and wife suffered non-life threatening injuries in the course of the hold-up and were transported to a nearby hospital. Police also report shots were fired inside the home by the suspects during the course of the robbery; it is believed one of the suspects was injured in the robbery.
The suspects fled the residence prior to officers arrival. A police canine unit was called to the scene and officers are searching the area for the suspects; the investigation is continuing.

The Portland Police Bureau’s investigation of last night’s shooting at the People’s Bar & Grill, 7901 N.E. Glisan St. discovered more than three dozen shots were fired with two men wounded, 30-year-old Lance Elliott Lewis and 22-year-old Tracy Lee Horsley II; both received non-life-threatening wounds during the shooting.
Neither gunshot victim is cooperating with Gang Enforcement investigators and it has not been determined if they were the targets of the shooting. At this point, there is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.

Last night, just after midnight, Portland Police Officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a calls of multiple shots fired in the area of Northeast 79th and Glisan. Officers were directed by dispatch to The Peoples Bar and Grill at 7901 Northeast Glisan Street.
The windows of the bar was struck several times by gunfire, shattering the businesses’ windows. A vehicle parked on 79th Avenue, just south of Glisan Street, was hit by a number of bullet strikes. Officers located numerous shell casings in the street.

A drug deal gone bad with gang overtones is the reason police investigators gave for shots fired in a usually quiet neighborhood of east Portland this afternoon.
When officers arrived, they learned occupants of two vehicles were involved in a confrontation leading to the shootings. One car and one house was hit by gunfire; no injuries were reported.

Northeast 107th Avenue and Oregon Street
Investigators cleared the scene on Oregon Street near 107th Avenue in the Lorene Park neighborhood after processing evidence and talking to witnesses. The investigation is continuing.

Yesterday, Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct stopped 45-year old Javier Javier-Carillo as he was walking eastbound on Southeast Stark Street near 153rd Avenue. During the contact, the officers obtained consent to search the Carillo’s bag and found nearly six pounds of methamphetamine.

Six pounds of methamphetamine was seized from a Stark Street pedestrian yesterday.
Javier-Carillo, of Pasco, Washington, was arrested and charged with Delivery of Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

The Portland Police Bureau Drugs and Vice Division responded and assisted East Precinct with the investigation. Estimated street value of the seized methamphetamine is $268,000.

Early this morning, around 1 a.m., a police officer was driving east on Division Street at about Southeast 85th when he was flagged down by a motorist who told him a bicyclist had just been hit and run by a black SUV.
The officer immediately requested medical personnel to the scene to treat the cyclist, but soon after medical help arrived, the bicyclist was pronounced dead. The same officer was approached by a 17-year-old bicyclist who had also been struck by the SUV. The 17-year-old was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

After a 12-hour search that began around 1 a.m. this morning, four men suspected of robbing Rounders Cafe, 11416 N.E. Halsey St. in Gateway were apprehended by police; one, 34-year-old Antonio Denon Carter of Northeast Portland (also known as Anthony Williams), was found hiding on the roof of a nearby house.
When officers from East Precinct arrived, suspects were fleeing from the scene on foot southward into the neighborhood. Police set up a perimeter from Northeast Halsey to Glisan Streets, from 112th to 118th Avenues. Patrol officers from East Precinct stopped a vehicle leaving the area and arrested the driver, 35-year-old Mckeever Watkins Thompson Jr. of Northeast Portland, as one of the robbery suspects.

Early this morning, police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to Rounder’s Café, a lottery deli, at 11416 Northeast Halsey Street on a report of an armed robbery in progress.
Arriving officers observed three suspects fleeing the area on foot. Two African American males and one white male; all three were last seen wearing dark clothing.
Officers immediately established a perimeter. The perimeter boundaries were Northeast 112th Avenue to 118th Avenue, Halsey Street to Glisan Street.
Once the perimeter was established officers activated the Special Emergency Reaction Team. S.E.R.T. is called when suspects in violent felonies like armed robbery occur. SERT has the additional training and tools available to them to resolved dangerous situations like this one.
