Sandy Pioneers defenders didn’t touch Parkrose quarterback Jonathan Boland much last month during their game. He scores his second of three two-point conversions here as the No. 4 Broncos stomp the No. 10 Pioneers 46-22. Boland ran for two touchdowns, three two-point conversions, and was 15 of 24 for 403 passing yards, even punting once for more than 40 yards. A perfect 4-0 so far, no opponents have been able to the stop multifaceted quarterback or the rest of the team.

Are the Broncos contenders for a state title or a one-dimensional team with a flashy, quick-strike offense that fails against complete teams? Can their defense, which allowed just 18 points in the first three games, but gave up 22 against the Pioneers, stop better teams’ offense?

With three tilts against teams ranked in the top 15 on their schedule this month—No. 7 Hillsboro, also undefeated, No. 12 Wilsonville and No. 13 Liberty —we’ll all find out.
