Sunday, April 25th, 2010

As reported in the March edition of the Mid-county Memo, a live music event held in benefit for Parkrose Music Boosters in January, was filmed and will be airing tonight on PDXposed. The e-mail below is from our friends at the online music magazine, Buko Magazine.

“Jon Olson and the PDXposed team lands at our PG3 show to interview all three stars and talks to Ty (Hitzemann) about k-12 music education programs.
Three local guitar greats, Geoff Metts, Terry Robb and Jennifer Batten made it all happen.
Buko Magazine offers fine optional musical entertainment for those tired of the status quo…PG3 rocked the Roseland in a huge way!

Watch PDXposed tonight on FOX 12 at 6 p.m.

Portland Parks to east Portland: F__k you

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Here comes a rant.

Since the proposed city-wide Portland Parks & Recreation levy Lee Perlman reported on last month was heavy on the catalog of long overdue east Portland park projects, expectations PP&R would go the extra mile for Mid-county residents was not unwarranted.

However, as usual, the City falls short where it comes to delivering long-needed and neglected infrastructure east of 82nd Avenue.
One wonders how much money PP&R spent with their “outreach” to come to the vaunted, high-priest like conclusion that the economic climate “makes it too difficult” Too difficult? Please. As if that is a revelation. If not now, when?

Division St. lane closures begin Monday

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

Be advised: we received a traffic advisory about lane closures on Southeast Division St. at 109th Avenue beginning Monday.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the public that beginning Monday, April 12, SE Division Street at SE 109th Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction for street repairs due to a water main break. The public is advised to expect delays in the area for a week and a half and to choose alternate routes if possible.

“The hours of the lane closures are weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lanes are expected to be re-opened Thursday, April 22. Work is weather dependent.”
