Bungalow Rose Floral & Gift Shop sets open house Oct. 26

The Bungalow Rose Floral & Gift Shop, housed in Addie’s You & I Travel at 7545 N.E. Sandy Blvd., is having an open house on Friday, Oct. 26. Ample parking is available.

Debbie Mannings, owner and operator of The Bungalow Rose Floral & Gift Shop, personally invites all readers of the Memo to join her at the shop for a day of fun and festivities.

Portland Christian to hold Walk-A-Thon on October 19

Students and faculty of Portland Christian Jr./Sr. High School are holding a Walk-A-Thon Friday, October 19, from noon to 3 p.m., at the school in benefit for Carolyn Dowd, head of the English Department and a breast cancer victim.

Walk-A-Thon participants will be taking pledges for every lap completed, with all proceeds given to Dowd helping to defray costs incurred with a fight like this.

Organizers will also accept donations from anyone who chooses not to walk, but would like to help.

Dowd came to Portland Christian High School in 1995. Since that time, she has led the English department to higer academic achievement and excellence from all her students.

Northeast Rotary of Portland inducts new member

The Northeast Portland rotary Chapter is seeking new members and local volunteers to assist them th help expand the community projects NE Rotary does annually.

East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation sets monthly meeting

The East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District, which includes all of Multnomah County east of the Willamette River, will hold its regular monthly Board of Directors Meeting for November on Monday, October 29th, 2007 at 6:00pm in Room 443 of Montgomery Park, 2701 NW Vaughn Street.

This meeting time is rescheduled to avoid conflicting with the statewide Conference of the Oregon Association of Conservation Districts.

The agenda will include discussion of the upcoming Strategic Planning Workshop, designation of District representative(s) to the Oregon Association of Conservation Districts Conference, an update on a new office location along with other items of business, including an Executive Session.
The District Office is on bus routes #15, 17 and 77.
