Northeast Portland Rotary becomes one member stronger

The Northeast Portland Rotary Chapter meets weekly at the Refectory Restaurant, 1618 NE 122nd Ave.

They’re looking for new members to assist in expanding the number and scope of community projects in 2008.

Free Spaghetti Feed Featured at Parkrose High School’s Back to School Night

Wednesday, September 26 is the date for Parkrose High School’s annual Back To School Night where parents meet teachers face to face, review their student’s class work, projects and familiarize themselves with their children’s daily schedule.

And, if their student happens to be a senior, parents will learn about requirements for the Senior Project.

This year, parents are invited to a FREE Spaghetti Feed at the high scool beginning at 6 p.m. on Sept. 26 (please call 503-408-2650 to R.S.V.P.), then meeting teachers at 6:30.

Back To School Night attendees will also have a chance to win a family pass for all school sporting asses and theatre events.

Unitus unites food with boxes at SnowCap

Last month, ten dedicated Unitus Community Credit Union employees volunteered an entire workday at the SnowCap Community Charities warehouse located in Southeast Portland.

Unitus employees rolled up their sleeves and went to work on everything from packing food boxes to painting. They hand-packed over 250 Food to You boxes that were delivered to seniors, broke down, measured and packaged 100 pounds of pancake mix and 200 pounds of rice, painted food collection barrels and interior SnowCap headquarters office walls and even measured and packaged pet food for SnowCap clients’ four-legged friends.
