COURTESY THE RUTH FAMILY

Cory Jonell Ruth Lumber was tragically taken from us on July 2.

Cory is survived by her daughter Stacey, son Connor and their supportive father, Brian Lumber; her mother, Kathy Ruth; sisters DeAnn Brandt (Paul), Kelly Sprague (Adam) and Leslie Ruth (Richard); and nephews Jordan, Taylor, Colin and Mason Brandt and Mick and Mateo Sprague. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe (Jack) Ruth.

Cory was born in Portland, Oregon, on October 10, 1967, the second of “those Ruth girls.” She graduated from Madison High School in 1985 and also attended Concordia University.

Her employment included many years at Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, LifeWise, and most recently Paulsen’s Pharmacy in the Hollywood district. Since Paulsen’s was in her childhood neighborhood, she was able to constantly connect and reconnect with friends and neighbors, endlessly rehashing stories and making great milkshakes. She was known as the “client guru.”

She loved life—especially spending time with friends and family, drinking Coors Light and making them laugh. She will be missed and loved forever.

A celebration of life has been held.
